Another set of critical ears listening to your track. |

You have played your song to your mates, the other significant half and any relative that will listen. They unanimously say "it's great". This is a good thing. On average they will be responding from one of two positions. Your song does actually touch something within them or they don't want to hurt your feelings. If your song actually moves them, this is the desired result. Music is supposed to effect you, just like pretty well all other art forms. Not wanting to hurt your feelings however, is not a useful response. Enter the person you are talking to, to complete your tracks mastering. They may or may not "like" your track. This is OK, but what they should do is to inform you, in the nicest way possible, of things they hear within your track that needs to be addressed. Some people who do Mastering are musicians in their own right, others are not. What all people who do Mastering share in common is an understanding and feel (if you like) for music |
